Junior Olympic Sailing Festival - Two Florida events wrap up 2003 season of US Sailing's Junior Olympic Sailing Festivals
PORTSMOUTH, RI. USA-(19-11-2003) For youth sailors planning to go to Florida in December, Orlando may not be their favorite destination. US SAILING has scheduled two Junior Olympic Sailing Festivals in Florida in December. The Martin County Junior Olympic Sailing Festival will be held December 6 and 7 at the US Sailing Center in Jensen Beach. The Orange Bowl International Youth Regatta will be held December 27-30 at the US Sailing Center and Coral Reef Yacht Club, both in Miami. US SAILING is now accepting online registration for both events at www.ussailing.org. The USA Junior Olympic Sailing Festival, presented by West Marine, helps young sailing enthusiasts, 18 years old and younger, who already have on-the-water experience develop their sailing skills while having fun on and off the water.

About the Martin County Junior Olympic Sailing Festival ­ Dec.6 & 7 Classes: Optimist, Laser, Radial, 4.7, 420, and Mistral Prodigy Windsurfer Registration Deadline: November 28, registrations received after Nov. 28 will be charged a late fee. About the Orange Bowl International Youth Regatta ­ Dec. 27-30 The Orange Bowl International Youth Regatta is the largest Junior Olympic Sailing Festival in US SAILING’s six-year affiliation with the event. In 2002, the event attracted a record 450 young sailors from across the nation and eight foreign countries. Over the years, the Orange Bowl has become a holiday tradition among youth sailors. Classes: Optimist, Laser, Radial, 29er, and Club 420 Registration Deadline: November 30. A late fee will be charged until Dec. 15, after which no registrations are accepted. About the USA Junior Olympic Sailing Festival program The USA Junior Olympic Sailing Festival program is organized by US SAILING, national governing body for the sport of sailing and sailboat racing. This year, more than 4,000 junior sailors will participate in 20 Junior Olympic events at yacht clubs and community sailing programs across the country.
